Late Summer Harvest

Pole beans, purple beans, cranberry beans, tomatoes (heirloom and not-so-heirloom), onions, zucchini, pattypan-squash, chives, basil, rosemary.

Not in the least bit over-the-top. No sirree!

For an Indian, you don't seem to eat (or at least, write about) many peppers.

I've got a TON of peppers coming on late-season. Serranos went crazy once it cooled off a bit.

Anyone who likes a jalapeno should eat serranos...

I love serranos. I suppose I just take them for granted.

I love the Thai bird chillies too. Fiery little things.

I also love the Japanese shishito peppers. Pan-fried with olive oil very quickly and topped with flaked sea-salt, they make an ideal "beer snack".

This summer I was given an absurd number of peppers by the mother of a friend and even I was a little bit overwhelmed.

They're all gone now though. :D

I'm going to put those japanese peppers on my list for a possible new pepper for next year. Thanks.

They really rock!

They are super mild but every one in a while there will be a spicy one.

It's like Russian Roulette with peppers except the chance is actually really quite low.

A friend of mine was over for beers and he bit one and the first one was a hot one. After all my urging, he agreed to have another, and as his luck would have it, it was another of the hot ones.

He refused to trust me after that but he's wrong. They're actually very mild.

Hahahahhahahahhahahhahah! :P
