Fideua in Barcelona

This was a magnificent meal. The CC had the fideua negra (black noodles with cuttlefish in its ink.)

The second dish, pan con tomate (bread rubbed with olive oil, garlic and tomatoes) is deceptively simple. Make it right, and it's so heavenly that you could just eat it all day long. (Once again, pictures do not do it justice.)

hmm. so you describe this as black noodles, but unless i'm not parsing the picture correctly, it looks like regular (off-white or yellw or whatever you want to call the colour) noodles topped with cuttlefish and cuttlefish ink. what gives?

The off-white portion are softly caramelized onions to the side.

The black portion is actually the noodles.

The picture doesn't do it justice. It was taken at a very tight angle with very little room to spare. A little imagination is needed. :)
